Deep tech startup oorja has successfully raised $1.5 million in a pre-Series A funding round, led by Micello Fund and featuring participation from investors including Capital-A, Java Capital, Anicut Capital, and Lead Angels. The company intends to utilize these funds for product development and expansion into the European and North American markets.
Launched in 2022 by Vineet Dravid, oorja employs a combination of physics and machine learning to conduct predictive modeling. Its primary offering involves providing electric vehicle manufacturers with streamlined battery design solutions. oorja's core competency lies in its ability to predict precise battery life, optimize pack design, and ultimately save costs and time for its clients.
oorja proudly claims its affiliation with the Indian Science Technology Engineering Facilities Map (ISTEM) program. This initiative grants students from more than 800 colleges across India access to oorja's application suite for research and educational purposes. Additionally, oorja has been a recipient of the SISFS grant.
Based in Bengaluru, oorja boasts a customer base of over 15 clients spanning across Asia and Europe. It operates in the deep tech sector alongside notable companies like CogKnit, Streamoid, Photom, Jumper.ai, Cognitifai, and others.
