Zepto Elevates Ankit Agarwal to Chief Product Officer to Drive Innovation and Enhance Customer Experience

Quick commerce leader Zepto has made a strategic move by appointing Ankit Agarwal as its Chief Product Officer (CPO), aiming to bolster customer experience and fuel innovation across various categories. This announcement comes on the heels of Zepto achieving unicorn status in 2023, with a valuation of $1.4 billion, and the company's ambitious plans for a public listing within the next 12-18 months.

Ankit Agarwal, who brings over 13 years of product experience from companies like Flipkart, Delhivery, and Infra.Market, joined Zepto in August 2022 as the Senior Vice President of Product. In this role, he spearheaded the entire fulfillment charter, encompassing the entire supply chain, last-mile delivery, and finance technology. His impressive track record in the industry made him an instrumental addition to Zepto's leadership team.

With his elevation to CPO, Ankit Agarwal will now oversee the product lifecycle end-to-end, from enhancing the consumer experience to optimizing supply chain logistics and last-mile delivery efficiency. His leadership will play a pivotal role in shaping Zepto's future as it continues to revolutionize commerce in India.

Kaivalya Vohra, Zepto founder and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Zepto, expressed his confidence in Ankit's abilities, highlighting the substantial progress made during Ankit's one-year tenure at the company. Vohra emphasized Zepto's achievement in building world-class technology, including an in-house last-mile stack and the rapid implementation of a warehouse management system in less than six months. These initiatives have significantly propelled Zepto's growth and operational excellence.

Zepto's journey toward becoming a unicorn reflects the company's rapid ascent in the Indian startup landscape. Founded just two years ago by two teenagers, the company recently secured $200 million through a Series E funding round, solidifying its unicorn status with a valuation of $1.4 billion. Notably, this round consisted entirely of primary funding, underscoring Zepto's commitment to building a strong capital foundation as it sets its sights on a potential public listing in 2025.

As Zepto continues to reshape the quick commerce landscape in India, Ankit Agarwal's appointment as CPO is expected to drive innovation, enhance customer satisfaction, and further cement the company's position as a dynamic player in the evolving world of e-commerce and quick commerce. With a clear vision and a strong leadership team, Zepto is poised for continued growth and success in the coming years.
